Welcome to Michigan State University
from the Director of Orientation

Congratulations on your admission to Michigan State University. We are excited that you are now a member of the Spartan Family. One of Michigan State University’s top priorities is helping new students make a successful transition as they experience college life. We have planned the Academic Orientation Program (AOP) to give you information about your major, college academics and college life in general. You will enroll for your classes while you are at orientation. Our goal is that you will get the information you need to be a successful student at MSU. We also hope that having attended AOP you will get more excited about being an MSU Spartan!

This website will give you information about AOP and help you get ready for orientation. If you have questions that are not answered on this site, please e-mail us at aop@msu.edu or call 517/353-5030.

As you become more acquainted with MSU, you will find that we genuinely care about our students. Beginning at orientation, we are committed to helping you have a fabulous college experience. After AOP, we will continue to work with you and provide you with support and help as you make the transition to MSU. One of the many resources available is the FYI website (http://www.fyi.msu.edu). This site was created by MSU students for you. Check it out! Many upperclass students have told us that they wish they would have had a site like this when they were entering college and experiencing their first year.
