Welcome to the Michigan State University community! We’re excited for you to take part in New Student Orientation (NSO) as you begin your journey as a Spartan. NSO is an interactive experience designed to warmly welcome first-year and transfer students while providing the support needed for a smooth transition to MSU.
Each new Spartan participates in New Student Orientation (NSO) prior to their first semester as an MSU student. By paying the Acceptance Fee (formally the Advanced Enrollment Deposit) students are automatically registered to participate in NSO.
Our aim is to foster meaningful connections, build a strong sense of belonging, and empower students to take charge of their learning. Through opportunities for academic success, social engagement, and community building, you’ll be supported in navigating campus, exploring your passions, and enhancing your well-being. We prioritize health, wellness, and equity, ensuring an inclusive and innovative space where all students can thrive. We are excited to join you on this journey as you transition into the MSU community!
