Important timeframes to consider when planning for New Student Orientation.
New Student Orientation Experience for students entering MSU in the Fall Semester:
- March – NSO newsletter e-communications begin for deposited Fall new students and their families and supporters.
- May – NSO D2L experience course available for Fall new students.
- June – Advising and Enrollment appointments begin – individual or group advising appointments available throughout June and July.
- July – Advising and Enrollment appointments end.
- August – First-year, transfer, and international student move-in (specific date, time and details forthcoming from Housing).
- August – In-person Fall Welcome experience for new first-year, transfer, and international students – includes NSO, Convocation, Colloquia, Sparticipation and MORE!
- August – Fall semester begins (Fall Welcome events continue throughout the first week of classes and beyond)
New Student Orientation Experience for students entering MSU in the Spring semester:
- October – NSO newsletter e-communications begin for deposited Spring new students and their families and supporters.
- November – NSO D2L online experience course is available for Spring new students.
- December – Recommended time for students to have completed their assessments, surveys, and the NSO D2L online course
- January – Advising appointments and course enrollment occurs
- January – In-person NSO experience for new first-year, transfer, and international students
- January – Spring semester begins
